YARN: multimodal story sharing for seniors
UI/UX + Accessibility + Interaction Design + Coursework
YARN is a storytelling kit for older adults: a deck of prompt cards asking about a person's life, paired with an app that helps them record and share their responses. The name comes from “spinning a yarn,” which also set the visual language: knitted letterforms and the saturated color of a basket of wool.
No single way of answering is accessible for everyone, so YARN works with an open model. Any card can be answered by writing, drawing, recording, or conversing with a loved one, whichever suits that person on that day.
